BRITA SEIFERT

Brita Seifert Never forget the Roses Pastel colored pencil on canvas 60 x 80 cm

Brita’s work is mainly inspired by music, travel and personal experiences. Each work can be placed in a different world, in the middle of a story or simply the expression in symbols of her inner feelings. The scenes in her work usually arise in the twilight of the morning or in the last rays of the evening, the boundary between day and night, sleeping and waking, blurring between reality and the ghosts of the imagination.

Brita Seifert started drawing in pencil and paper in 1980, she first drew for three years
was admitted to the Academy of Graphic and Illustration in Leipzig, where she was a student from 1983 to 1986
from Prof. Heinz Wagner and Werner Hennig. From 1988 to 1989 she also attended the Academy of Visual Arts in Berlin.
In the period from 1989 to 1992, Brita Seifert lived in Italy and was inspired by, among other things
Leonardo Da Vinci and Albrecht Dürer, but also by contemporary painters such as Bruno Di Maio and Walter Girotto.
In 2000 she completed her multimedia design studies and then pursued a career in digital art.
She now usually designs her works on the computer first, after which she will draw or paint them.
She invites a model for good fabric expression. In every work she tries to incorporate a recognizable emotion,
often things from everyday life with a certain expressiveness that strongly turns to the fantastic,
erotic and magically realistic images. Brita’s work is mainly inspired by music, travel and personal experiences.
