Jean-Pierre Bédarrides was born in 1954 in Aix-en-Provence. From an early age he was interested in drawing and color.
He is heading towards a professional career in technical drawing and advertising. Then in 1985, he made his first exhibition of watercolor landscapes in Aix-en-Provence.
In 1986, contacted by a publisher, he published a book illustrated with watercolors on Aix-en-Provence and its countryside. Attracted by chiaroscuro and still life, he was naturally led to work in oil paint. Concerned about detail and quality, he manufactures his supports himself.
After several trips to Morocco, enthusiastic about the beauty of its landscapes and its light, he presents two exhibitions on this theme where still lifes, landscapes and scenes of life mingled. Encouraged by the success of his exhibitions, Jean-Pierre Bédarrides has devoted himself entirely to painting since 1987.
In 2005 he published a second book retracing twenty years of painting.
Now known and recognized for his landscapes and still lifes whose work reminds us of the masters of figurative art, today he surprises us with his new creation, he is entering a new period. In an environment that he wanted to bare, his painting captivates us with the strong presence of the objects he loves, caressed by a warm light that gives life and movement to the whole.
All this leads us to reverie and contemplation. A timeless artist of international renown, registered at Bénézit.
